What can you use to sharpen a knife?
I’m trying to sharpen my pocket knives (there are two of them) but I can’t find the knife sharpener that came with our kitchen knives. Are there any household objects that work well for sharpening a knife?

I am disappointed in the sharpness of my kitchen knives and I am looking to buy a diamond sharpening stone to bring them to the razor sharp level i know they should be at. The only problem is I can not find a store which sells the type i want (one with a base) in the NYC metropolitan area. Please also keep in mind when answering, that I am 15 and will be paying for this sharpening stone with my own cash, so price is very improtant. Thanks.

I have been sharpening my knives with a tiny portable stone and I am looking to move up, I can hold a decent angle. I would like the sharpener that will get me to a razor sharp edge ( no electric or slot sharpeners please ) . Rather than take my kitchen knives to a hardware store and pay /knife for sharpening, I would like to purchase a home knife sharpener. I’m not sure what to look for, feature wise, and what’s considered good quality.
Any suggestions?
my boyfriend buys a new knife every other freakin week, because he uses them a lot at work, so i wanted to get him an electric knife sharpener. In the pictures and everything they only show kitchen knives. Do pocket knives work with it too?
